Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how LawnWise uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and web app. For more information about how we handle your data generally, see our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember information about you — such as keeping you signed in, remembering preferences, or understanding how the site is used. We also use similar technologies like local storage and session storage, which we collectively refer to as “cookies” in this policy.
2. Cookies We Use
Essential: sign-in session (web app)
A secure, HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in to the LawnWise app and protects your account. It lasts until you sign out or the session expires. The app doesn’t work without it.
Essential: your cookie choice
We save whether you accepted or declined analytics in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask you every visit.
Optional: analytics (PostHog, app only)
If you click Accept on the cookie banner in the app, PostHog sets a cookie and local-storage entry with a pseudonymous ID. It records specific actions, like finishing onboarding or starting checkout, and links them to your account once you sign in. It doesn’t record your screen, keystrokes, Sage conversations, or photos. If you decline or ignore the banner, PostHog never loads.
Our marketing website (lawnwise.app) does not currently use analytics or tracking cookies.
3. What We Don’t Use
- No advertising cookies.
- No third-party tracking pixels.
- No session recording or heatmaps.
- No selling or sharing of your data for targeted advertising.
4. How to Disable Cookies
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can usually find these under Preferences, Settings, or Privacy and Security. Common browser instructions:
Disabling the essential session cookie will prevent you from signing in. To change your analytics choice in the app at any time, go to Profile → Privacy and turn Usage analytics on or off.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
